Thor: The Dark World

This is a review of the new Thor movie. There will be mild spoilers; so if you still have not seen the movie don't read this post.

The movie picks up after the events of the Avengers movie and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is going realm to realm to solve this war epidemic that has broken out. Jane (Natalie Portman) is trying to live her life without Thor seeing as she hasn't heard from him in two years. However due to planetary alignments an old ancient power - the Aether - has woken and possessed Jane and simultaneously awakening an ancient evil, the Dark Elves.

But not to give too much away, I'd say the movie was very good; better than the first. There's more Loki (Tom Hiddleston) which automatically makes the movie epically great. And you get a better sense of the Thor-Loki brotherly bond.

The only small complaint I have of the movie is that the ending battle was a bit repetitive and then anti-climatic. Like I got the point of the portals and the worlds aligning but it was just a bit extensive and ran longer than I felt necessary and then just kind of ended.

There are TWO after credits scenes: one in the middle of the credits and one at the very end. So stay to the very ending kiddies!! :-)
